The Impact of Groups and Teams on Organizational Behavior We are discussing the impact of groups and teams on organizational behavior. To lay a proper foundation we will define what groups and teams are and are not Teams—groups of individuals working toward specific goals or outcomes. The common elements in the definition of a team are: Two or more people with work roles that require them to be interdependent who operate within a larger social system (the organization) performing tasks relevant to the organization’s mission with consequences that affect others inside and outside the organization who have membership that is identifiable to those who are on the team and to those who are not on the team.
