Leadership Roles
Who should take the leadership role in organizing outreach programs to the parents, the family,
and the community? What specific strategies would you employ?
I believe that everyone that a child interacts with at home and at school should take the leadership
role. Supportive school staff (Principal, Teachers, and Staff) and social support from within the
community play a major role in students’ success. When a student feels valued, they will develop healthy
skills, remain in school, and avoid risky behaviors. Students achieve more when they have involved
parents whatever their parents’ education level, background, and socio-economic status. Parents that are
involved with their child’s education reduces antisocial behavior, negative behaviors such as substance
and alcohol abuse, and violence. However, a decrease in parental involvement increases, “students are
less likely to succeed when communities are economically deprived, disorganized, and lack opportunities
