Mrs. Joy, you have been diagnosed with Carpal tunnel syndrome. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition that causes tingling, numbness and other symptoms in your hand and arm. Carpal tunnel symptoms mostly begin slowly. The first symptoms may include numbness and tingling in your thumb, middle and index fingers that comes and goes. This condition symptoms also cause discomfort in the wrist and the palm of your hand. The cause of carpal tunnel is due to pressure on your median nerve. Carpal tunnel syndrome has many risk factors some of the risk factors include; sex of the person, nerve damaging conditions, anatomic factors, inflammatory conditions, obesity and alterations in the balance of body fluids. Women are most likely to have carpal tunnel syndrome than men. There is no way for you to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome, but there are things you can do to decrease stress on your wrists and hands by; taking frequent breaks, reducing your force and relaxing your grip, improve your posture and keep your hands warm. Some treatment for your condition may include; nonsurgical therapy like, wrist
