E-R Diagrams 2 Introduction An entity relationship diagram (ERD) is a type of structural diagram use for designing databases (“What is entity,” n.d.). An ERD contains different symbols and connectors that visualizes the major entities within the system and the inter-relationships among these entities. Entity relationship diagrams can be used to help visualize database designs, and can also help developers debug a large database that contains many tables as it provides a full picture of a database schema. Part I If I were going to develop a computer-based tool to help an analyst interview, I would suggest a CASE tool like the one found on lucidchart.com.
