Differentiate among various forms of comedy, including satire, comedy of character, farce, and parody. Comedy was one of two major genres that grew out of Greek theater, it is now defined as any theater work that is performed with the primary intent to promote laughter. Although originally it was a used as a short skit that would be performed after a trilogy of plays to lighten the mood of the audience before they left a theater. There are many forms of comedy, those include satire, comedy of character, farce, and parody. Satire is one of the many forms of comedy, defined as one that mocks the problems of society. These problems can be anything from injustices, inequality, and President Donald Trump’s latest political upset. A good example of such satire can be seen on Saturday Night Live’s latest skits which is a skit mocking President Trump and a member of his staff, Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
