A Man Most Remarkable, Respected, and Rare On a frigid February day amid the sparkling and sheen snow of Illinois, a newborn baby was born to the Reagan family. Ronald Reagan would undoubtedly become one of the most influential and admired men that would ever live. Honorably, even throughout his childhood and school years, he worked hard in everything he involved himself in which went from athletics to acting. Being in Hollywood for 30 years and serving in the political realm for fifteen plus years, Ronald obviously was a hardworking man working for what he desired, not expecting it delivered to him on a silver platter. 5 Eighteen years before the fall of the stock market beginning the legendary yet loathsome and lurid great depression, Ronald Wilson Reagan was born in a small northwestern Illinois town of Tampico on February 6, 1911. 1 He was born to John, known as Jack, and Nellie Reagan. When Ronald was born, his father, Jack, without missing a beat, dubbed him Dutch because he resembled a fat little Dutchman. 4 During Ronald’s childhood, the Reagan family unhesitatingly moved around a great deal in the state of Illinois. 2 In High school, Dutch was quite involved as an athlete and in the school plays while being the student body president.
