(5 credits) Expected Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: Define the nature and structure of the U.S. federal income tax system. Interpret federal income tax laws and regulations. Research and analyze primary and secondary tax resources. Advise on the application of the most common income tax rules to a given scenario. Apply the most common income tax rules to a given scenario. Required Textbook: Title: South-Western Federal Taxation 2018: Essentials of Taxation: Individuals and Business Entities with CengageNOW Edition: 21 st Author: Raabe, Maloney, Young, Nellen Publisher: Cengage Learning This course will require access to CengageNOW. If you purchase the textbook from the CWU bookstore, the textbook will include a one-semester printed access card to CengageNOW. If you purchase the textbook anywhere else, you will need to purchase the access card separately. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have access to all required course materials, including the textbook, by the first day of classes. I will not grant extensions on readings and assignments due to a student’s failure to secure access to required course materials.
