In your opinion, what level of the socioeconomic strata (i.e., social class - lower, middle, or upper) in the United States is most affected by cybercrime? Why do you believe that stratum is more affected than the others? Explain and thoroughly support your answer. Markmonitor online produced a report that showed a staggering 45% of all consumers have been subject to some sort of cybercrime in their lifetime. The even more staggering fact was that a majority of them never reported it to an authoritative body. Now the bombshell, one in 6 of those people were victims of cyber loss where their total loss was $1300 or greater (Seals, 2016). Now, as I sit here and think, I would first shift my answer towards the upper class being the most targeted by cybercrime. However, we are not discussing who is targeted the most, we are discussing who is the most affected. The socioeconomic status of the upper class/ tax bracket awards them a little more wiggle room and luxuries when it comes to personal protection.
