Michael Heineman Student # 22701327Course Exam # 250200Journal entries 1-6June 3, 2018ENTRY 1: Me, A Writer?Attitude: The way I’m approaching tis course is with an open mindset and excited plus I’m very motivated for this course and that’s because growing up I haven’t been a strong writer at all. So, by completing this course should help strengthen my writing skills and let me have more confidence in my writing abilities. I also feel like taking a composition course will help improve my writing skills to a college level which I will carry on through my other courses and for the rest of my life which carries great benefits.Inventory: I would say after taking the self-evaluation test I have discovered that I feel I’m a very personalized writer. I like to put a lot of my emotions, experiences and opinions into what I write. One way I would like to try and improve my writing is reading what I write out loud this tip is simple, and, in most cases, you should write like you talk and the second way is by finding your own space that you can be alone and be able to relax and really let the words and thoughts come to you.June 3, 2018ENTRY 2: The Role of Correctness in WritingI feel that it is very important to have correct sentences in writing because errors in grammar, spelling and punctuation affect the understanding that the writer will impact onto their reader sometimes errors in grammar or spelling can cause a misunderstanding because the writer could have intended to the state one thing or meaning, and the reader will think something else. Errors in spelling may have the reader think that the completely different word was the meaning of the writing and the writer did not intend to communicate this mistaken message. Errors in punctuation can do the same where a misplaced comma colon, an apostrophe, etc. can cause misunderstandings for the reader in what the writer is writing. For all of these reasons above it is very important to have correct sentences in writing. My strengths and weakness as a writer include that I am not always perfect with my grammar, spelling and punctuation, however I am always willing to learn new things about correct writing to improve and strengthen my writing. I also have may mentioned previously I would like to readthe dictionary, so I can improve on my vocabulary in writing.
