Week 4 Discussion How to practice safe sexting The Ted Talk I choose was “How to practice safe sexting” by Amy Adele. I found her speech to be very informative and entertaining from start to finish. She classifies herself as a sexting expert and has been studying sexting since 2008, she emphasizes that isn’t a professional sexter, but a sexting expert. She is also the author of the book titled, “Sexting Panic: Rethinking Criminalization, Privacy, and Consent”, which breaks down the moral panic of sexting. As I observed Amy’s bodily gestures and few others Ted Talk videos, I noticed that everyone stands in the same place for the entire segment, which is directly in the middle of the red circle in the middle of the stage. I believe this is to reduce any distractions on the complete message. To replace her engaging with the audience by working the stage, she instead used communicative hand gestures while giving her speech. Her facial gestures and tone was very passionate and points of her speech as well. She never raised her pitch too high or low and spoke very confidently, but stayed at a steady pace. She even took the proper breaks when the audience was snickered at her jokes. Certain times you can see her break eye contact and look to the ground. That may have her just to remember her next point or a bad camera angle. Her visual aids that were used with the audience were
