Daily Life Between Athens and SpartaIn ancient Greece Athens and Sparta were the two most famous and powerful city states. They were geographically quite close to each other but they seemed to be rivalry among them consistently. Their lifestyles, culture, values and beliefs were both very different.Government:Both Athens and Sparta governments were elected by their people. The difference between the two is that Athens Government ruled as a democracy and was the first city state to implement this procedure. This is where democracy was born! While in Sparta the government was ruled as an oligarchy by two kings. The two kings ruled until they died or was forced out of office.Athens:Athens was built below the acropolis which stands basically on a hill above all of Athens. This nation loved control over land which resulted in many wars over Greek lands. They were quite creative and believed in education i.e. for boys. Boys had the opportunity to pursue arts and sciences .They also allowed them to join the army or navy if they wanted to. Unfortunately in Athens, girls were not
