Nursing is a profession that can be both rewarding and challenging at the same time. I think the biggest challenge is struggling to be everything for everyone and accomplishing everything on your schedule. Every other profession places requests on nurses, have the patient here for this test or procedure, carry out this order by this time, write this order now, paperwork needs to be finished at an appropriate time. Then let's include the mandates from patients and families, allow time for teaching, therapeutic communication and all the nursing tasks that need to be done. Being a nurse, you’ll face quite a lot of fatigue and feel like you have too many responsibilities with too little time. To carry out all this effectively, you need to plan by schematizing your tasks and sorting out your priorities. Create a flexible schedule that will assist you in your most hectic shifts. No doubt that nursing is a rewarding profession, yet many nurses face lack respects from their patients, co-workers, administrators and even doctors. Lack of respect as a professional.
