4.04 WritingAPART ONE:During the novels “The Bean Trees”and “Pigs in Heaven”both by Barbara Kingsolver. Certain literary devices such as conflict, foreshadowing, and imagery are used throughout both of these novels. The theme “it takes a village to raise a child” is represented in “The Bean Trees” and “Pigs in Heaven.” Both novels are about the life of Taylor a single mother and her daughter Turtle. Although “The Bean Trees” came out in ‘88 and “Pigs in Heaven” came out in ‘93 the central idea that blood is not the only thing that makes you family is clearly evident in both of these novels. PART TWOTaylor and Turtle face major conflicts an example is when Taylor realizes that shecould possible lose her daughter Turtle. After realizing this she concludes that she needs to find a job and a home to support herself and Turtle. Later she realizes that finding a job and a house is a lot harder than she had initially expected. Custody
