Part I INTRODUCTION 1.1 Theories/Concept of the Design Nowadays, many innovations in technology are mainly focused on different activities that authorize controlling and monitoring. These kinds of innovations in the industry are emerging to meet and improve human being’s necessities. Efficient monitoring system is necessary to observe and evaluate the situation if in case it surpasses the normal level of parameters. The event chosen to be monitored in this project is the weather. In our everyday living, weather forecast plays an important part. Having a weather monitoring system helps one in planning and preparation for anything that may be needed in case of unfortunate weather change. It provides situational awareness and would help in keeping track of different weather behaviors including temperature, humidity and light intensity. Human needs demands different types of monitoring systems. This depends on the type of data gathered by the sensor devices. Event Detection based and Spatial Process Estimation are the two categories to which applications are classified. Initially the sensor devices are deployed in environment to detect the parameters (e.g., Temperature, Humidity, Pressure, LDR, noise, CO and radiation levels etc.) while the data acquisition, computation and controlling action (e.g., the variations in the noise and CO levels with respect to the specified levels).[1] For the past few years the Philippines has encounter different weather phenomenon that has greatly affect the whole country. This event leave a big lesson to the people and the government. There are several ways people predict the weather. Some farmers observe the behaviour of birds and the direction of wind, other forecast that it will rain depending on humidity of the surrounding. All of these are just human observations that may result to a wrong conclusion. Technology has been a big part of human life even before with these weather monitoring system is introduced. With different equipment like diodes and sensors that can produce accurate outcome, weather monitoring became easy to perform. The main goal of this research is to monitor the weather for a remote user. It reads different weather parameters like temperature, humidity, rain quantity and light intensity. The gathered data from these sensors shall be sent to the user through SMS by using the GSM module. Since different plants are susceptible to different weather conditions, it specifically hopes to provide an accurate information
