ANALYSIS OF ANNE BRADSTREET POEM 2 Anne Bradstreet is s renowned author in literature having authored a number of literature pieces during her time. She remains to be remembered by the fact that she was able to rise up above all odds during her time to compose superlative pieces of literature; she lived in a harsh religious society where women were looked down upon but then she was able to rise up and mitigate these challenges. She was eloquent and open to what she had in mind. These two forms of behavior are well presented in her poem, To My Dear and Loving Husband. In order to effectively deliver her intentions the author used a number of literature devices: symbolism, imagery, tone and theme among other literary devices. Starting with imagery, imagery is when the narrator use words that are intended to appeal to the senses of the readers: through the author’s words, readers are able to perceive a sense image or idea that the author is trying to bring about. As such the images do appeal to the six senses of the readers. Anne Bradstreet uses imagery in her poem as she describes her intense love
