Morah 1 Introduction The purpose of this experiment was to understand the relationship between series and parallel circuits. In a series wiring the same current travels through the circuit. If connected in a parallel wiring, the same voltage travels through the circuit. The way the resistors are connected effects the flow of the current/voltage through each circuit. Theory : Most resistors usually obeys Ohm’s Law which is a mathematical relationship between electric current, resistance (R), and voltage. Equivalent resistor directly relates the relationship between a series and parallel circuit to Ohm’s Law. The equivalent resistor uses a single resistor that can replace a more complex circuit to produce the same total current when applied. Equation 1: Ohm’s Law where the proportionality constant is defined as V=IR.
