I will inform the passengers of the condition of the ship and the factors that precipitated that condition. I will let them know that due to problems with the ship’s propulsion unit, the ship has had to shut it down because continuing to run on it would have resulted in permanent damage. As a result of shutting down that engine, the ship’s cruising speed was reduced to 10 knots. The arrival time at Cozumel would, therefore, be delayed; instead of arriving at 9:30 am, they would most probably arrive at 4:00 pm.
