This character interested mebecause she was willing to give up her very own hair to buy her beloved husband a present forChristmas. I could relate to not wanting to disappoint a loved one during a holiday by having nogift. The theme of this story is love and irony. They love each other so much they are willing tosacrifice their only possessions in life to buy each other gifts, Della buys Jim a chain for hiswatch and he buys her combs, which in the end is ironic because they do not have those thingsany more. Della encountered not having enough money to buy Jim a present and she handled itby selling her hair.
