Dr. McMahon and Class, In this course, I have learned the importance of a thorough interview and examination of the patient. This will help in diagnosing and treating the patient in a cost-efficient, safe, and timely manner. Chamberlain’s goal is to prepare us to be extraordinary nurses and enabling us to know the process of basing our professional practice on highest of quality, evidence-based, safe care. All while saving time and money. It is important to let the patient be involved in making goal- specific plans in his/her care. This will lead to greater compliance with the provider and care. Good communication will benefit the provider and patient. This in turn, helps develop a profession and personal relationship while building trust. Having resources to back up the plan will give the client confidence in me as a provider. I will be able to provide cultural and population specific care to people of all ages, races, and genders, regardless if they are psychiatric or special clients.
