Megan Takeuchi 6/01/2018 CAS 100C Rhetorical Situation - Robert F. Kennedy “Remarks on the Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.” Robert F. Kennedy delivered his speech on the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. very shortly after the assassination occurred on April 4, 1968. This was a very powerful speech used to inform the public about the death of Martin Luther King Jr. It was easy to detect the somber tone right away and spoke in such a sincere manner. He truly provided a speech that addressed the assassination of Martin Luther King while at the same time providing comfort to the public during the tragedy. Robert F. Kennedy insured that he delivered a speech that was fitting for the occasion and the diverse audience. As stated in the previous paragraph, Robert F. Kennedy had a very diverse audience to address, due to the fact that this was an extremely racially tense time. Because of this, I believe that the audience had a huge impact on the rhetorical strategies he used.
