This preview shows page 1 - 2 out of 3 pages.

Change Change is inevitable in the world of healthcare. Evidence Based practice research is ongoing and provides us with valuable information for utilizing best practices in the care of our patients. That being said, change can be difficult. This is true for most individuals and even more so when you have a group of individuals who are experiencing change in processes that have been in place for some time. When you have a group of individuals who are having difficulty with change at the same time; this can become a problem that may affect workflow. Resistance is an unfortunate but expected response that often accompanies change (Marquis & Huston, 2017). Leaders must be aware of this and prepare a plan for how to deal with this potential issue. Often times, this is not considered during the planning process and the attempt to successfully implement a change fail as a result (Marquis & Huston, 2017). Bedside shift report is a hot topic in health care. Evidence supports the efficacy of bedside shift report however there are questions as to if it is a sustainable process in the busy healthcare world that we exist in today (Gregory, Gregory, Tan, Gamm, and Edwardson, 2014).

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
