Individual Power Plan In the ever-changing landscape of it is imperative that new leaders be well aware of their leadership style, skills, and areas for improvement. A key component in this path to self-awareness is understanding power. Power is one’s ability to accomplish goals, motivate change, or provide assistance for others whether that be subordinates or patients (Marquis & Huston, 2017). This paper will provide an assessment of my current leadership skills and level of power as well as an assessment of my degree of motivation in terms of increasing my power within the organization. Additionally, I will propose a plan for enhancing my power. Self-Assessment of Power within my Organization I received a score of 68 on the mind Tools (2015) leadership skills self-assessment. This score indicates that my leadership skills are on target to become a good leader. Two essential components to good leadership are self-confidence and a positive attitude (Mind Tools, 2015). While I know this to be true, I also know that I have issues with self-confidence. It came as a surprise to me that my score was high in this area. That being said, further research into self-
