PLAN 370 Study Guide Bryson, Chapter 5 Assess the Environment to Identify Strengths and Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges Purpose To provide information on the strengths and weaknesses of an organizations in relation to the opportunities and challenges it faces its environment. Helps to alert the organization to external threats and challenges that may require a response in the foreseeable future. Helps the organization find the best fit between itself and its environment based on an intimate understanding of both. Desired Outcomes A documented list of external or future-oriented opportunities and challenges and a list of internal or present strengths and weaknesses.
