Meghan Wells English 104 Vic Penuel October 31, 2005 Life or Death: Is the Choice Yours? Abortion is defined as an operation or other intervention to end a pregnancy by removing an embryo or fetus from the womb. Michelle is the kind of person who does not care about what she does. She just goes out and does whatever she wants and deals with the consequences later. Being that kind of person got her into a lot of trouble. She had unprotected sex with her boyfriend and got pregnant. She knew that her parents would be there for her and support her even though they did not agree with what she did. She knew that she would not have any financial problems because her parents would be there for her in any way that they could. Of course, she and her boyfriend were young, immature, and only thought about how it would destroy their lives if she had the baby, so she opted for an abortion. Abortion is very much against her parents’ beliefs and her boyfriend’s parents’ beliefs but again, they only cared about themselves. That incident happened two years ago and she regrets it to this day. Why is it okay to kill just to keep your life the way it was? Why is it okay to take someone else’s life so you do not ruin yours? The answer is it is not okay. Human life can be any of the following, ovum, spermatozoon, zygote, embryo, fetus, and newborn. Choosing abortion is in fact murder. It is very wrong and should only be used in dire emergencies and very extenuating circumstances. An embryo is human in its first stage of life.
