Politics is a matter of rights, so religious people who believe that being gay is a sin would object to gay rights, aligning them with the republican/ conservative party. Those who do not believe it is a sin would align themselves with the political parties who advocate for gay rights such as liberal and democratic parties. There are many different kinds of churches, and a spectrum on which they fall regarding politics. It all comes down to political action in the end, and whether or not people base their ideas of what is acceptable in society off of a book that was written so long ago. Religion serves as a reason or justification for why people vote the way they do because both religion and politics deal with issues of morality and how to deal with its many assets....
