Nature vs Nurture: DRAFT To understand behavior, one must look at the various factors affecting it. The Nature vs. Nurture debate has been going on for millennia stretching back to ancient Greek philosophers in fifth century BC. Plato both biology and emotions. Today scientists agree on that behavior is affected by three factors: biological, psychological and socio-cultural. Scientists use different methods to gather evidence such as identical twin studies as they have the exact genetic makeup. In conclusion, this is an interesting debate that has fascinated scientists and philosophers for on for thousands of years with many supporters on both sides and Aristotle supported different sides of the argument; the former supported nature as the primary factor determining behavior whereas the latter argued it was nurture. Darwin explored the concept of natural selection in his famous book The Origin of Species.
