Adlerian Therapy ConceptualizationThe Adlerian therapy model is more concerned with the development of the counselor and client relationship. In this relationship the counselor tries to establish a cooperative partnership with theclient. Another key tool used in the Adlerian therapeutic model is the use of life style assessments and family constellations. In this way, the counselor is striving to see patterns and draw out themes and decisions from the clients. (Corey, 2017) This is usually accomplished in the insight phase and this therapeutic approach believes that seeking insight alone is not enough for helping a client, but there must also be an action or reeducation phase. These four (4) phases of the Adlerian therapeutic approach comprise a framework for helping a client develop courage to face life’s challenges.
