HOLOCAUST PROPAGANDA 2Holocaust is a term used to label the state-sponsored, bureaucratic and systematic massprosecution and murder of approximately six million European Jews during the Second WorldWar II by the German Nazi regime and their collaborators. In January 1933, the Nazis came topower in Germany with Adolf Hitler named the governor. Hitler was born in 1889 in Austria andserved in the Germany Army during the World War I. Hitler like other German anti-Semitesblamed the Jews for the 1918 defeat of Germany. After World War I, Hitler joined the NationalGerman Worker's Party, which later converted to Nazis as known by English speakers. The Nazisviewed Germans as "racially superior" and to them, the Jews were inferior or sub-human[Ber03].They believed the Jews were an alien threat to the German racial community and purity. Hitlerwas highly possessed with what he called "Aryan," the superiority or purity of the German raceand had written a memoir and propaganda tract titled, “Mein Kampf” while he was in prison in1923. In the Memoir, he predicted a great European War which will lead to Jewish raceextermination in Germany for living space of the German "superior race." When the Nazis, tookpower, Hitler's domestic and foreign policy reforms were aligned towards his twin goals ofterritorial expansion and racial purity. In 1939, the German army invaded the western Poland and occupied that part whileforcing Jews in that area into the ghettoes which were surrounded by barbed wire and high walls.Throughout the year 1940, the German army expanded its invasion into Europe, conqueringNorway, France, Denmark, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Netherlands. In 1941, Jewish andEuropean Gypsies all over the Europe continent were transported to the Polish ghettoes in whatthe Nazis termed “final solution”[Jew16]. The Germans invaded, the Soviet Union in 1941, andthis marked the next level of brutality as mass killings were carried. Mass exportation of Jewishand the “less useful” from the ghettoes, German territories, and German allies to the
HOLOCAUST PROPAGANDA 3concentration camps began in the late 1941 and continued to 1945; this is what is termed theHolocaust. The concentration camps had been developed during the early years of the Naziregime for detainment of imagined and real ideological and political opponents. In theconcentration centers, the Jewish were murdered in specialized developed gas chambers. TheNazis surrendered in the year 1945 after Hitler committed suicide when the German leadershipwas dissolving amidst internal wrangles. This paper seeks to analyze the Holocaust propaganda. The Ideology, purpose of the Propaganda campaignWorld War I aftermath effects adversely affected Germany even though no warfare tookplace in the Germany territory. The Germany emperor fled, and Germany went into a politicalinstability period characterized by terror and localized Bolshevist experiment.
