Duncan Hall Physics 20 13/03/2018 Conservation of Energy Lab Report 1. Analysis of Ramp and Cart Scenario a. The overall final mechanical energy was, on average, around a quarter of the initial E M . The conclusion to be drawn from this observation is that this system was in fact open and not isolated, therefore friction and other non-conservative forces had a hand in consuming the E M . b. Because final mechanical energy is only the kinetic energy – seeing as the height is zero at the bottom of the ramp so the gravitational potential energy is nullified – it is reasonable that as the velocity increases with each increase of the ramp’s inclination. This is due to a higher gravitational potential energy at the top of the ramp as a result of the increased height; therefore as the initial height increases so does the final E M with direct linear correlation. 2. Analysis of the Pendulum a. Because the pendulum is so light, it does not have a high gravitational potential energy thus

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
