Dear Professor and Class, This question made me think about the community that I am a part of here where I live. I live just outside of Boston and there aremany different groups that reside here and host different events honoring their cultural traditions. For example, there is an annual African Festival, an Irish Day Parade, and an August Moon Festival hosted by residents celebrating their Asian heritage, just to name a few of such events. At first glance events like these might appear to be divisive, but I think that these events allow people to be in community with people who share similar experiences before reentering the global world the next day. For example, I am grateful to work a facility with a relatively diverse staff. It's nice every once in a while to go to events celebrating myNigerian culture. It makes me feel less alone and gives me renewed energy to engage with my peers of diverse backgrounds.I should also mention that these events are open to all members
