Week 2: Interprofessional Collaboration Strategies “The needs of the clients, physicians, and organizational administrators frequently supersede the needs of the nursing staff. In today’s fast-paced environment, people communicate with each other just to get jobs done. Civility and politeness have gone by the wayside in an age of instant gratification and ever-present electronic devices as the mainstay for communication”(Hood 2014) My last position was DON for a Public Health Clinic. The above statement rang true with me. It sums up a large part of my decision to leave. The only way tool people used to communicate was argument. I have to say it was a remarkably inefficient way to provide patient care.
