The organization also gives services for those who are victims of drinking and driving, which can be the victim or the victim’s the family. Since the organization created their diverse type of prevention program that is designed to warn people of the effect that driving under the influence can have, and to have stronger penalties for people thatare charged with the crime. The paper will disuse the creation and history of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and how it has helped to develop social policies, and the effects there are.Who and Why MADD was created MADD started on May 3, 1980. Candance Lightner's 13-year-old daughter, Carri, was hit by a drunk driver. She died right at the scene of the accident. The man that hit her daughter was name Busch, and he was charged with vehicular homicide. He was found guilty and sentenced to 21 months in Jail. Ms. Lightner worked together with other mothers to make a stand against factors that will cause accidents because of alcohol. The primary goal of this organization is to stop people that intake alcohol and they are driving the car, have to fund for the sufferers of the lawbreaking and to avoid juvenile consumption.
