The Farmer’s Side in Industrial Farming Industrial farming is a very controversial topic among many. We, as a society, tend to evade the topic of industrial farming, assuming the worst among the cattle due to the information shared in agricultural documentaries. However, throughout all of this judgement, we rarely take the industrial farmer’s perspective into consideration. We simply ignore their experience to becoming industrialist and craft our own assumptions about them. In the essay titled “The Omnivore’s Delusion: Against the Agri-intellectuals,” author Blake Hurst shares the farmer’s perspective on the topic of industrialist farming. Hurst inconspicuously claims that he is an industrialist farmer himself and that he is mainly doing it for efficiency--he compares the organic methods of farming to the Wall Street Journalpublications written by hand. His credentials further credits his perspective on the topic of industrial farming
