According to the National Labor Relations Act, employees have the right to self- organization, to form, join, or assist labor organizations, to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing, and to engage in other concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection. (SHRM website, 2009, Section 7) As a result of this well developed process, management and labor unions now have the platform to negotiate work related issues. These guidelines have formed and changed over history and are now being used to help each party reach successful and fair resolutions. What are some of the current trends or problems in labor relation practices?
