CHECK This is the first thing you do after recognizing that an emergency is taking place. You have to check the scene for any dangers to yourself, the victim, or others. These dangers would include fire, smoke, falling rock, dangerous fumes, etc. If you determine that the situation is dangerous, IMMEDIATELY retreat and call 911.

CALL If possible, send someone else to call 911 so you can start administering care. If you are alone, you have to do one of two things. 1. Call first if a. The unconscious victim is 12 years or older b. You witness the collapse of an infant/child
