List and discuss the violent and property offenses included in the UCR’s Index Crime? 1. The concept of criminal typology. Crime typologies are classification system that group together criminal offense that share similar attributes. The four basic elements are (1) the criminal behavior, (2) offender attributes (3) victim characteristic (4) the situational context. 2. The three general classes of crime derived from legal – based typologies. (1) crime against the person including murder, sexual assault, robbery and battery. ; (2) crime against property including burglary, larceny, forgery, embezzlement, and auto theft. (3) crime against public order including disturbing the peace, trespassing drunkenness, drug use, and prostitution.
