Task 1(a) A company need to comply with relevant legislation and regulations. It is very essential that the organization or company obey these standards to make sure your business do not bring problems mainly for the employees, contractors, customers and volunteers. Firstly, Health and Safety Legislation is important which always refers to as Occupational Health and safety(OHS) or Work Health and safety(WHS). In order for a longer term success of the business, it is a legal requirement to create a safe working environment. This is to ensure on keeping hold of the staff as the environment is safe and does not effect one’s health. This legislation is followed up by BBQfun and is taken seriously in order for the employers to work with exertion. For example, BBQfun provides training for the safety committee team members who are in Work Health Safety to maintain a safe work premises which includes a safe way of using goods and ensuring a safe equipment maintenance and to apply audit and maintain measures to testify to Work Health and Safety productiveness. The Privacy Act which is under Privacy Act 1988 gives protection securing all personal information. Business transaction depend on the collecting and put to use of customer’s personal information. For example, the person’s house address, phone number, name, identification number, email address and etc. Therefore, is essential for BBQfun to protect and give respect to their customer’s privacy with storing them safely and to be accessed when necessary in a way it should comply with Privacy Legislation and not for the wrong use. Australian Consumer Law attribute to consumer’s rights and obligations. The aim is to fend off false and misleading conduct on any advertising, supplying product and services and sales. BBQfun should know the rights and obligations and how this consumer law will affect the business. BBQfun attract with
customers through marketing, research and personalized service to meet customer’s satisfaction. If there is a case where the products or service need to be adjusted will definitely need to meet the necessary condition of Australian Consumer Law. This mainly refers to damages, refund of money, replacement of product and loses. BBQfun should also manage their customer personal data by updating the software frequently to comply the Privacy legislation. The workplace relations legislation makes sure the workers treated fairly and equally with the same condition and pay. It is established by the Fair Work Act 2009. This legislation provides a safety net of minimum prerogative, enables flexible working arrangement and a fair working environment, preventing discrimination against employees. BBQfun must make sure they provide with minimum workplace quality and coming to an agreement to a pertinent wages.
