Running head: THE ISA LEVEL 1 Module Five Assignment: The Instruction Set Architecture Level Adriana Maria Duarte Saint Leo University
THE ISA LEVEL 2 1. Design an op-code to allow all the following to be encoded in a 32-bit instruction: (35 points) a. 14 instructions with one 22-bit address and 4-bit register number Opcode Address Register 4 bits 22 bits 4 bits Opcode = log 2 (14) = 4 bits b. 720 instructions with one 12-bit address and 5-bit register number Opcode Address Register 10 bits 12 bits 5 bits Opcode = log 2 (720) = 10 bits c. 128 instructions with two 12-bit addresses and 2-bit register number Opcode Address Address Register 7 bits 12 bits 12 bits 2 bits Opcode = log 2 (128) = 7 bits 2. Computer the Boolean expression (A AND B) AND C for: (30 points) A = 1101 0000 1010 0011 B = 1111 0000 1111 0000 C = 1100 0011 1010 0101
THE ISA LEVEL 3 First, we will do the (A AND B) inside of the parentheses, and then combine that result with AND C. Remember, 1 AND 1 is always 1, 0 AND 1 or 1 AND 0 is always 0, and 0 AND 0 is always 0.
