The two States that I am focusing on in this post is theSeleucid and the Minoan. According to the text they separatedafter the after the death of Alexander the great and the end ofthe Macedonian Empire. The Seleucid was the largest andmost diverse of the states. Their economy was run byAgriculture and Taxes. The king during this time was Seleucus,he moved the Capitol from into Syria, and there he importedmen for his army. The Seleucid Empire extended at its peakfrom the Mediterranean to the borders of India, enduring from312 to 129 BCE, after which it gradually broke up until its finalsubmission to Rome in 64 BCE. The total population supportedprobably reached between 14 and 18 million inhabitants. Oneof the key objectives of the Seleucid kings was to derive asmuch revenue as possible from the underlying economy oftheir empire without damaging its prospects. It was necessarythat this sum is in coin as much as possible since this was themedium required to pay the mainly professional armies used
