Research a behavior that represents risky behaviorsas children emerge from middle childhood to adolescence. Discuss the individual, cultural, and environmental contexts that help professionals understand the emergence of specific behaviors. Discuss developmental theories that can help explain the adaptive and maladaptive aspects of those behaviors. There are many different behaviors that can be classified as risky behavior in children and young teens. One of the risky behaviors that jumped out to me in these readings is risky sexual behavior. There are many facts that contribute to sexual behavior at a young age to be highly risky, but the main issue is simply that children are engaging in sexual behavior at a younger age than any other previous generations (Broderick & Blewitt, 2015). Children that are just entering the teenage years are still very naive to all the risks associated with engaging in sexual behavior. A great deal of maturity must go into determining if a person is ready to engage in sexual conduct.
