1.1 Problem Statement
With the growth in demand for wireless communications in every corner of the
world be it at the middle of ocean or in the middle of the rain forest , the need of
tools for system design optimization and radio network planning has been triggered
with many network operators joining the market.
Satellite mobile communication
network design involves several inter-dependent factors such as analysis of coverage
and traffic, orbital design, satellite coverage, topography and propagation
characteristics. The selection of the number of satellites, their orbital design and
other design parameters have to be determined in the context of one another.
