Title and Author Information: Cody Caldwell Chemistry 111 Section 512 Experiment #6 Introduction The purpose of this experiment is to teach us how to use a burette to perform titrations and create titration curves based on the use of different chemicals and equipment. Materials and Methods In the first trial we used a microburette system and added our NaOH solution to it. We then weighed out our KHP and added it plus our drops of phenolphthalein indicator with the stir bar. After that we titrated till our solution turned a slight pink. We then came to find that our solution after titration had become .101M which was slightly lower than average which was .10286M. In trial six we weighed out .1094g of mustard then titrated it with our NaOH we came to find that the percent of Acetic Acid in Mustard was 3.35%. In Trial 3 we took 8.2mL of HCl and titrated it with our NaOH and after many runs we came to find that it did titrate and make us a curve. This showed us the kind of information that we needed to see.
