OPENING STATEMENT May it please the court, jury, opposing counsel. My name is Tameia Verdree and i'm representing the state of georgia. We are here today because samantha pyke decided to pay her debt...with murder. Now, Whether and not the deceased Bobby Bacalari was a good person is debatable. Bobby was a loan shark, he took advantage of vulnerable people in desperate situations and profited of it. Yet, one could also argue that he inherited the family business to support his mother, and baby sister after his father was murdered. He did what he had to do to make sure bills were paid, food was on the table, and that his little sister Ronnie had a shot at going to college. However, what’s not up for discussion is that on the night of january 26th 2013, Bobby Bacalari was murdered, and the person who did it is sitting right over there. It was a cold january night, Bobby had been on his way to concert with his sister Ronnie, and told her he had some business to take care of first. There waiting for them in the Miltonville
