TEAMS
: You are encouraged to work in teams. A single assignment can be turned in by up to 4 team members. Include all team
members’ names on the HW set when turning in. Each team member should understand how to solve ALL problems.
If you work in teams, I suggest that each person should spend time working on ALL of the problems before meeting. The purpose of
HW is to expand on and get practice on heat transfer problems.
HOMEWORK SETS
: Turn in all problems, in the order they were assigned. Staple, if possible, and fold the set in half lengthwise.
Write your name (all team member names in ALPHABETICAL order by last name) on the outside fold, so that it will be easy to return.
FORMATTING:
Work neatly, draw a diagram of the problem, where appropriate, keep problems in the correct order; if the grader
can’t find a problem, then it may be scored a zero. Write on only one side of each sheet of paper. Engineering paper is NOT required.
UPLOADING HW TO BLACKBOARD:
For each HW set, there will be a link on Blackboard to submit a scanned image of the homework
set. This will be a way to ensure that your set has been received, but the paper copy will be graded, not the electronic upload. The
uploaded
version will only be used in the case of discrepancy or if a set goes missing. If you do not upload your homework, you will
NOT be penalized; it is meant to be a safeguard to ensure that your homework is archived. If working in a team, each team member
should upload the entire set (same file) to blackboard. For Homework #1, the upload link will be active until 5:00 PM on August 31;
for subsequent sets, the link will expire at 12 Noon on the due date.
LATE HOMEWORK
: Homework will not be accepted after the solutions post (by 12 NOON on the due date). Turn it in during class,
send it with a classmate, or drop it in the RED folder outside my office door (SEC 3472) BEFORE the solutions post on Blackboard @
Noon. If you have an excused absence for a homework set, I will drop that set, and award a score of 0 out of 0.
