House 1Alayna HouseRita Yessick, InstructorEN-101-6026 December 2017My Reflection on EN101Learning to write well in college will not only help to prepare me for the future, but willhelp me to get more out of the college courses that I take.The writing process requires that youlearn how to complete different research for each paper.Learning how to locate and analyzesources that are credible and applicable is an important skill that will help me throughout all ofmy academic courses. Composing essays also requires you to be a more attentive reader.As Iread, I have to look for evidence that will support my arguments and ideas.Collegiate writinghas trained me to analyze the concepts and thoughts of others in order to compose a differentpoint of view or an argument based on my analysis of others’ work.Being able to be successfulin college level writing is important to me because it shows others that you are educated and areable to not only provide meaningful writings, but also hold meaningful conversations.Over thecourse of the semester, my ability to analyze articles and find adequate evidence to support mytopics has greatly improved, however I still need to work on my correct use of punctuation andbasic citation formatting.Collegiate writing requires that I apply critical thinking and reading skills to a variety oftexts.Throughout the course I believe that I have greatly improved on my ability to criticallythink and read.An example of when I had to use both critical thinking and reading skills was inModule two when I used the outside sourceFahrenheit 451.By using the bookFahrenheit 451as an outside source, I was able to provide evidence from a classic book rather than another
