How Meditation affects your Nervous System Meditation is known to calm many people and has an abundance of benefits. Meditation can tranquilize the nerves, avert stress and anxiety, and can energize the parasympathetic nervous system. Meditation gets rid of pessimistic emotions caused by the sympathetic nervous system, like depression and anxiety. People tend to gain self-esteem and self-acceptance, as well. Meditation can bring down the heart rate, blood pressure, and your breathing. From erudition, they have found that the beta waves in a person s brain reduced tremendously. With time, meditation can help grow your mental strength and concentration. Not only that, but meditation can create an atmosphere for happiness and peace. I decided to try concentration meditation. With this meditation, you have to focus your mind on a single object. While playing Wii Fit, it used to be fun to try to make sure the candle did not blow out on the TV.
