Think back to the ways in which you spend/spent time with your family. Create your own
definition of family. Who is in this family? How does this definition align with the definition you
found in your textbook?
List ways in which the services, businesses, and government have created spaces in which
families can spend time together outside their houses. Compare and contrast these experiences
– what are their similarities and differences?
How does the stereotypical definition of family feature into the Canadian landscape? How do
traditional gender roles feature in those experiences you identified?
