NURS 6512: Advanced Health Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning MAIN POST Selected Patient The selected patient is an at-risk eighty-six-year-old Asian male who is physically and financially dependent on his daughter. The selected patient’s daughter a single mother who has little time or money for her father's health needs. JC, the selected patient, has a history of hypertension (HTN), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), b12 deficiency, and chronic prostatitis. Also, he currently takes Lisinopril 10mg QD, Prilosec 20mg QD, B12 injections monthly, and Cipro 100mg QD. He is visiting the advanced practice nurse for an annual exam and voices concern about being a burden to his daughter. Socioeconomic, Spiritual, Lifestyle, and Other Cultural Many Asian laws require adult children to uphold traditional values by assisting and supporting the needs of their aging parents (Li, Chi, & Xu, 2013, p. 154).
