This first interaction is crucial as this is when the customer either forms an opinion about the organization or when theychange their opinion regarding the organization. This interaction could range from a host greeting a guest, customer purchasing tickets or merchandise, or a simple conversation between a guest and an employee. I had a similar interaction with a manager of premium partnerships at the New York Jets. I inquired about purchasing a suite for a game and the interest and effort this individual put forward, showed that he wanted to make me a customer for life.
