Simultaneous Determination of Mn and Cr in Steel using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry Purpose The goal of this experiment was to be able to determine the concentration ofmanganeseandchromiuminaalloysampleofunknowncompositionsimultaneouslyusingaUVspectrophotometerabsorbance data from manyunique wavelengths(nm). Themetal was digested according to the instructions, diluted, and analyzed atvarious wavelengths. Using the absorbances from the spectrophotometer, theconcentration can be determined using the additive Beer’s law. Data and Observations
